ThalíaRamírez Carrera
Mexican artist
I am from Mexico, I was born in Veracruz, but I live many years in Puebla, the city of Talavera. I considered myself an amateur artist since I haven´t studied Arts, however I have painted all my life in different techniques. I love to paint Talavera style, is a famous mexican style, white and glazed type of ceramic, intangible cultural heritage.
In 2017 I decided to paint over enameled metal (type of vintage metal that is very popular in Mexico). I tried to paint over this material with several paints for more than a year until I found one Art professor, a famous paintor in Puebla, she helped me to find the proper paint.
The moment I realize I could finally made my art creations on this material, I decided to create a name for my Art work , called "Corazón de peltre", which means enameled metal heart.
I started my project on March 2019 .
Since I applied for a scholarship in Hungary, I moved on September 2019 to Budapest. My surprise was to discover a new art world, since in Budapest I found many ceramic shops.
I was invited to teach the Talavera style on a workshop in Budapest, I learnt how to paint over ceramics and I will love to improve my technique and specialize in this technique.
I am so happy to discover my right path, I will love to continue my art career on Ceramics. I have send already many art pieces around the world made by me, and it is so exciting to know someone has a piece of me somewhere in the world. I will love to keep mastering my art techniques, study and learn from the best.
Hope you like my work.
